Bushiribana Ruins. In 1872 the Aruba Island Gold-mining Company Ltd. built a large smelting works at Bushiribana on the North coast for the gold that was being mined at Seroe Plat and in its surroundings. Although the smelting works were only in use for 10 years, the construction was so solid that the impressive ruins still remain.
Balashi ruins. It was 1824 when gold was first found on Aruba. The gold mill of Bushiribana is built in 1874. And 25 years later they built the Balashi gold mill. This ruins are located on a hill at the Frenchmen's pass. There were probably steam engines, grind mills, water tanks and fern aces, just like the one in Bushiribana.
