Noticed this old thread, and jumped in to say I am finishing up a complete teardown & restoration of a Rusnok 850. I have had the spindle out and have confirmed the bearing numbers both by talking to EM and double checking against my machine. I cannot say whether they are identical for your model 70, but there is a good likelihood that they are.

Does anyone know which collet is used in the old Rusnok model 70 vertical head? This mill head was used on the Sheldon model 0 horizontal mill. The Sheldon catalog says it uses A9041-Y1 or A9041-Y2 collets. A9041 is the part number for the mill. I think I read somewhere that this mill uses a plain Y collet.

2007430Rusnok makes a small benchtop mill. It is that mills head youre talking about but the Model 70 is the original design from the 50s. Was a combo verthori unit. My Rusnok model 70 is mounted on a Sheldon milling machine with a 2" overarm support. I bought a piece of cold rolled and turned down the last two inches to accommodate the 1 1/2" adapter that came with the head (which was on a TM originally). I think the company made 2" adapters for the heads as well but they're as rare as hen's teeth.

I just bought a smaller horizontal mill with a add on vertical head. It's a Rusnok head, Model 70 . Belt drive, 5 speeds. 380,700, 1200, 2500, and 5200 rpm. It has a quill with an 1 1/2 inch travel and a 1/2 inch collet with a 3/8 split bushing in it. ( so I could use 1/2 or 3/8 cutters without any extra work).
